THE MISSION of Asdaex
Asdaex' mission was to optimize the consultation booths at Hôpital Saint-Luc in Woluwé, while reducing the number of consultation routes for health professionals. As part of this project, we worked with the editor of Rombio to implement innovative solutions. DESIGN
To carry out this assignment, we used the Rombio solution from our partner Genko, which is innovative in the field of data analysis and optimization. Rombio stands out for its ability to transform complex data sets into usable information, making it easier for companies to take strategic decisions. Rombio takes resources and constraints into account. Once the optimization has been carried out, it appears clearly and visually on a schedule that the user can use to fine-tune if necessary.
As part of our collaboration, we produced a POC (Proof of Concept) in 3 months, using an iterative methodology. This process included several key stages, each marked by dedicated workshops:
- Data recovery workshop:
The aim of this first stage is to collect and centralize all the relevant data needed to feed the model.
- Validation workshop for the first model:
Once the resources and constraints are configured, an initial model is developed and presented for validation. This workshop enables the model to be adjusted according to the feedback received from the participants.
- Final model validation workshop:
After several iterations, the final model is presented for validation. This final workshop ensures that the model is optimized and ready to be deployed to meet the specific requirements of the project.
SPECIFICATIONS
The second phase of our project focuses on the detailed specification of constraints and available resources in order to optimize the consultation process.
The main elements to be taken into account include
- Resources:
We need to manage the 212 consultation booths efficiently, considering the specific booths required for certain types of consultation. In addition, it is essential to coordinate the 827 healthcare providers available to cover the 1575 consultation slots.
- Consultation matrix:
To improve efficiency, we created a consultation matrix that considers the geographical and functional proximity of certain consultations. This enabled us to rationalize travel and optimise the 23 consultation routes currently used.
Result
The project resulted in the finalization of a model that accurately reflects the reality of consultations, considering the various constraints and resources. Thanks to Asdaex's in-depth understanding of hospital processes and Rombio software, we have not only reduced consultation routes at Hôpital Saint-Luc by 20%, but have also optimised resource management, resulting in a significant improvement in consultations and patient care.
One of the major successes was the possibility of closing 5 of the 23 existing routes, while maintaining service efficiency. In addition, the grouping of disciplines on a single route has enabled similar consultations to be centralized, improving the experience for providers and patients alike.
These results demonstrate significant value for money, with a model that not only meets current needs, but is also adaptable for the future challenges of hospitals and healthcare professionals.
